Serum
retinol binding protein 4 ( RBP4) is a
protein that carries retinol in blood. Its role is to deliver RBP4 from liver
to surrounding tissues. RBP4 is also
known to be involved in insulin resistance, is produced by mature fat cells . RBP4
is a classic biomarker that is correlated with CVD ( cardiovascular disease)
and diabetes.
